Encounters with the Garman Ryan is my first published collection of poems, and follows a long tradition of poetry inspired by art.

Written during 2008/2009, these poems are personal responses to works in The Garman Ryan Collection housed at The New Art Gallery Walsall. They seek to engage with both the diversity of this unique collection, and the challenging juxtapositions of its display in the gallery. But most importantly, they attempt to explore how we see art through the texts of our experiences and imagination.
